Samsung is Reportedly Developing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S26 Series
While Samsung continues to roll out One UI 7, a fresh report indicates the company is already developing One UI 8.5 for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series. This version appears to skip the typical “.1” iteration, replacing it with a more substantial update.
References to One UI 8.5 were spotted in Samsung’s software code, marking the first time since One UI 2.5 (in 2020) that a “.5” version has been used. The Galaxy S26 series is expected to debut with One UI 8.5 pre-installed, while the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 will likely launch earlier with One UI 8.0 based on Android 16.
Rumors also suggest that One UI 8.5 will feature a revamped design and enhanced AI capabilities. Notably, tipster Ice Universe speculates this move is part of Samsung’s effort to synchronize One UI versions more closely with Android releases.
